Gelatin Finings – 1 oz

Gelatin Finings clears beer and wine by causing the particles to coagulate and settle. This fining agent can also reduce astringency by removing tannin. Use up to 1 teaspoon per 5 gallons. You can aid the clearing process by cold crashing your beer & wine.

How to Clear Your Beer with Gelatin

  1. In a sanitized measuring cup add 1/4 to 1/2 cup cold water.
  2. Sprinkle 1/2 tsp of gelatin over water, let sit.
  3. Wait 10-15 mins for gelatin to dissolve/bloom.
  4. Heat water to 145-155°F. Short 5-10sec bursts in the microwave works well.
  5. Stir well, add to fermenter or keg. If kegging you can store cold to help increase clearing speed.
  6. Allow 24-48 hours to clear.
